Terms of service
Effective 2 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and SEOComet (“we”, “us”) for using the SEOComet web app at www.seocomet.com. By creating an account or using SEOComet, you accept them. If you use SEOComet for a company, you accept them on its behalf.
Your account
- Give a real name and an email address you can receive mail at. You need to be at least 16.
- Keep your password to yourself. You’re responsible for what happens in the workspaces you own, including what the members you invite do there.
- Each workspace has one owner, who controls its members, its plan and its billing.
Acceptable use
SEOComet fetches the addresses you add, on the schedule you set, as SEOCometBot. You agree to:
- Only monitor sites you own or have permission to monitor.
- Not use SEOComet to load test, flood or attack a site, or to reach addresses you aren’t allowed to reach.
- Not try to get around plan limits, check intervals or the crawler’s safety checks, for example by opening many accounts.
- Not probe, overload or break into SEOComet itself, or other people’s accounts.
- Not use alerts or invitations to send spam or anything unlawful.
If an account breaks these rules, we may pause its monitors or suspend it. Site owners who want SEOComet to stop fetching their site can write to [email protected].
Your data
What you put into SEOComet stays yours. You let us store and process it to run the service for you. The privacy policy explains what we keep and for how long.
Plans and billing
- The Free plan costs nothing and has the limits shown on the plans list. Paid plans cost what the billing page shows when you subscribe, in US dollars.
- Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, through Stripe. They renew on their own until you cancel.
- You can change plans or cancel at any time in the billing portal, under Settings, Billing. A cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you’ve paid for, and you keep the plan until then. We don’t refund part-used periods unless the law requires it.
- If a workspace moves to a smaller plan, monitors over the new limits are paused until you upgrade again, and check history older than the new plan allows is deleted after 30 days.
- If a payment fails, Stripe retries it. If it still doesn’t go through, the workspace moves to the Free plan.
- We’ll email the workspace owner before a price change applies to an existing subscription.
No warranty
We work to keep SEOComet running and its checks accurate, but we provide it as it is. Checks can run late, a site can block our crawler, and an alert can be delayed or fail to arrive. SEOComet doesn’t promise that it will catch every problem, and it shouldn’t be the only thing you rely on for a site that matters to your business.
Limitation of liability
As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost traffic, search rankings, ad revenue, sales or data, even if a check missed a problem or an alert didn’t arrive. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn’t allow to be limited.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in your profile settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or isn’t paid for, and we’ll tell you why unless the law or a security reason stops us. If we ever shut SEOComet down, we’ll give account holders notice first. Data from a closed account is deleted as the privacy policy describes.
Changes to these terms
When these terms change, we’ll update the date at the top. For changes that matter, we’ll email account holders before they take effect. If you keep using SEOComet after that, the new terms apply.
