Plans and limits

What each plan includes: sites, watched pages per site, how often checks run, alert channels, people and history, and what happens at a limit.

Updated

A plan belongs to an account, not to a person. Everyone in the account works within the owner’s plan, and sites other people share with you use their plan, not yours. Every plan checks robots.txt, sitemaps, ads.txt, app-ads.txt, the homepage and SSL. Plans differ in sites, watched pages and how often checks run. Apart from that, the free plan sends alerts by email only.

Every plan has as many alert channels as you like, an alert level for the whole account and alert settings per site. On Free, the channels are email only.

Prices are on the pricing page.

You can see what your account uses under Account › Billing, in Usage.

Watched pages

A watched page is any page SEOComet checks on a site besides the homepage, added with Watch pages. Each one takes a place in your plan’s watched pages per site.

  • Watched pages you paused yourself still take a place.
  • robots.txt, sitemaps (up to 50 a site), ads.txt, app-ads.txt, the homepage and the SSL certificate never take one. They’re included on every plan.

How often each kind of check runs is set by your plan. See How often checks run.

What happens at a limit

At a limit, nothing stops running. You can’t add more, and the page says what your plan includes and which plan has more room.

  • Sites: adding a site is turned off.
  • Watched pages per site: you can’t add another page on that site. Pages you paused yourself count here. To resume one, the site needs a free place among the pages that would run, so your other paused pages don’t count for that.
  • People: Invite people is turned off. Pending invitations count, so revoking one frees a place.
  • Alert channels: on Free, you can add email channels only.

Only the owner is shown the plan to move to. Everyone else is asked to get the owner to upgrade.

After a move to a smaller plan, the newest watched pages over a limit pause until there’s room again. See What pauses after a downgrade.

History

Your plan sets how long SEOComet keeps:

  • Check history: every run of a check and what it found. Older runs are deleted, but each check keeps its most recent stored copy, so the next check still has something to compare with.
  • Activity log: who changed what in the account.

After a move to a smaller plan, the longer history of the old plan is kept for 30 days. Then anything older than the new plan allows is deleted.
